Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) is a fast-growing WA civil and mining contractor, known for delivering high-quality outcomes for Tier 1 clients. Since 2013, we’ve built a strong reputation—and as we move into the second half of 2026, our growth continues with the ramp-up of the Covalent Lithium Project at Mt Holland.

With increasing production demands, expanding fleets, and growing crews, we are seeking experienced Leading Hand HD Fitters and Leading Hand Drill Fitters to play a key role in this exciting phase.

This is a unique opportunity to join a long-term project where your leadership will directly impact team performance, safety, and production outcomes.

About the Roles
 
As a Leading Hand, you will provide hands-on leadership across maintenance crews, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing operations in a fast-paced production environment.

Roster: FIFO from Perth | 2:1 (rotating days & nights)
 
Your Focus in This Role

• Lead and mentor fitters and contractors on site
• Coordinate daily maintenance across workshop and field teams
• Support production by aligning maintenance with fleet demands
• Oversee diagnostics, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance
• Monitor performance, productivity, and team capability
• Maintain accurate reporting and work management systems
• Drive high standards in quality, efficiency, and cost control

What You’ll Bring

• Mechanical trade qualified with proven Leading Hand experience
• Strong experience across mobile plant and/or drill fleets
• OEM exposure (CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Sandvik, Epiroc)
• Advanced diagnostics, fault finding, and maintenance capability
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive uptime in production environments
• Experience across both field service and workshop operations
• Strong understanding of WA mining safety regulations
• Schedule 26 (Highly Regarded)
• Experience with Pronto or similar ERP system.
