Cash & Sales Officer

About the role

Located at Cairns Airport, the Cash & Sales Officer plays a key role in supporting the finance functions by managing, processing, and reconciling all cash and sales-related activities. This role ensures that financial operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing daily, weekly and periodic cash and sales administration

• Preparing and distributing weekly sales reports to corporate, local partners and management

• Coordinating and processing daily and weekly banking, including cash and foreign currency

• Preparing and processing sales tax invoices and flight delay vouchers

• Monitoring debtor ageing and following up in line with agreed credit terms

• Participating in regular cash, register and nest audits and maintaining accurate documentation

• Supporting daily cash requirements, including maintaining prescribed coin bag and safe float values

• Providing cover for Cash & Sales functions and cash/foreign currency reconciliation during short-term absences

• Processing and downloading credit card transactions and tax invoices for reconciliation

• Liaising with banking partners regarding relevant documentation and account matters

• Ensuring cash handlers comply with company cash handling policies and procedures

• Maintaining accurate filing systems for payment vouchers and remittance slips

• Processing and maintaining internet banking transactions

• Providing general administrative and finance support as required

About you

• Has previous experience in a finance, accounts, cash handling or administration role

• Has strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Is organised and able to manage competing priorities

• Is confident working with numbers, financial records and reconciliations

• Has strong computer and administrative skills

• Communicates confidently with internal teams, external partners and banking providers

• Understands the importance of confidentiality and financial controls

• Is reliable, proactive and enjoys working as part of a team

• Experience with cash handling, banking, reconciliations or sales reporting will be highly regarded.
