OnDeck is looking for an experienced Recoveries Specialist to join our Operations team and manage a portfolio of late-stage commercial recoveries.

Our team is based in Sydney CBD, however, we're also open to remote candidates based in Melbourne who bring the right attitude, capability and proven recoveries experience.

This isn't an entry-level collections role. We're looking for someone who understands late-stage recoveries, is comfortable having challenging conversations and knows how to balance strong commercial outcomes with a fair and considered customer approach.

About the Role You'll take ownership of your own portfolio of commercial recoveries accounts, working cases through from contact and negotiation to resolution.

You'll be trusted to make decisions, investigate accounts, negotiate solutions and determine the most appropriate next steps. You'll work closely with customers, solicitors, field agents and internal stakeholders while contributing to individual and team performance targets.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing a portfolio of late-stage commercial recoveries end-to-end
• Negotiating payment arrangements, settlements and appropriate resolutions
• Making inbound and outbound calls and managing challenging conversations
• Conducting skip tracing and investigations to re-establish customer contact
• Assessing and responding to financial hardship applications
• Liaising with solicitors, field agents and other third parties
• Managing accounts that may progress towards litigation or external recovery action
• Working towards individual and team KPIs and recovery targets
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements

What We're Looking For We're particularly interested in candidates who already have hands-on recoveries experience and can confidently manage their own portfolio.

You'll ideally bring:

• Previous experience in late-stage collections or recoveries within financial services
• Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving recovery outcomes
• Experience managing complex or escalated accounts
• Skip tracing and investigative capability
• Confidence handling difficult conversations and objections
• A resilient, persistent and outcomes-focused approach
• Strong understanding of KPIs and experience working in a performance-driven environment
• Excellent judgement, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience with commercial/SME lending, litigation or legal recoveries will be highly regarded
• Salesforce experience is advantageous but not essential

Sydney or Melbourne Our Operations team is based in our Sydney CBD office, where we operate a hybrid working model.

However, we know great recoveries talent isn't limited to Sydney.
For an experienced Melbourne-based candidate with the right skills, attitude and track record, we're open to discussing a remote working arrangement.
