About the Role

​​As Senior Project Officer, FASD, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering NACCHO’s maternal and child health programs, with a particular focus on the Strong Born FASD awareness program. Working closely with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), government partners, sector stakeholders and community leaders, you will support culturally safe, community-led approaches to FASD prevention and maternal and child health.

​This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national programs that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and families, while building strong partnerships, managing program activities and helping shape strategic initiatives aligned with Closing the Gap priorities.​

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:

• Support the coordination and delivery of NACCHO’s maternal and child health programs and initiatives, with a particular focus on the Strong Born FASD awareness program.
• Manage grants and contracts, including monitoring milestones, deliverables, reporting requirements, timelines and funding obligations.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of program workplans, activity work plans, progress reports, briefing papers and correspondence.
• Support sector engagement, communications and promotion activities related to NACCHO’s maternal and child health priorities and the Strong Born FASD awareness program.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• ​​Tertiary qualifications in public health or related fields are highly desirable.
• ​Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, maternal and child health, health promotion, social policy, advocacy or related fields will be highly regarded.
• ​Strong written communication skills, including preparing reports, briefing papers, correspondence and other program documentation.
• ​Demonstrated organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
