Casual Jr Sous Chef required for The Keys Leisure Centre in Preston.

We are looking for someone who would like to spearhead our Summer wood-fire kitchen pop-up. We are looking for a passionate and experienced chef or pizza chef, who is comfortable cooking with fire, in fast paced, loud environment.

You will be the face of summer and all its glory at The Keys. The ambition is pretty simple: Leading the kitchen to serve safe food, positive financial results, with a high level of staff morale and development.

Pizza has been part of The Keys’ DNA since day one and has always had a solid reputation.

What we need is an energetic individual who is keen to take the reins of wood-fire kitchen, and make it fly this summer. Someone who can run a smart and sharp kitchen with a bit of cheeky banter.

We want someone who cares about the details, knows how to run a tight kitchen, can keep standards high when it gets busy, and still knows how to have a laugh along the way.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Looking for a casual / short term contract work (ie a 4 - 6 month Summer job, with the opportunity to extend)

• Able to work independently

• Able to ensure each shift is staffed appropriately and rosters are adjusted according to external factors

• Able to ensure kitchen is presentable at any given time

• Able to ensure consistent food quality and presentation

• Able to provide appropriate and effective communication with the FOH team

• Able to ensure HR policies are followed.

• Able to demonstrate efficient use of Deputy software

• Able to ensure all subordinate staff have a training and development plan

• Able to ensure training is being executed

• Able to coach, counsel, train and reward developing staff

• Able to identify, communicate and fix any OH&S issues immediately

• Demonstrate understanding of seasonality, current trends and competition

• Present ideas in line with the brief

• Conduct tastings and elaborate on tasting notes for FOH
