Koppers Performance Chemicals Australia (KPC) is a market leader in wood preservation technology, supplying innovative treatment systems, chemicals, and technical solutions to customers across Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Technical Services Representative to join our team. This role provides technical support and customer service to timber treatment plants and will suit someone with a background in engineering, industrial operations, maintenance, manufacturing, fluid systems, or the timber industry.

About the Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will act as the primary technical contact for a portfolio of customers, helping them optimise plant performance, troubleshoot issues, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the safe and compliant use of KPC products.

This is a hands-on role that combines customer relationship management, technical problem solving, site-based support, training, and process improvement. Regular travel to customer facilities throughout Australia will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and advice to customers.

• Troubleshoot treatment plant and process issues.

• Assist customers to improve plant efficiency, productivity, and preservative usage.

• Support the operation and maintenance of treatment cylinders, storage systems, pumps, dosing equipment, process controls, and associated plant infrastructure.

• Assist with commissioning new equipment and treatment systems.

• Deliver technical training and operational guidance to customers.

• Build strong, long-term customer relationships.

• Promote safe work practices and support compliance with relevant standards and procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and being part of a collaborative team.

Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Mechanical Engineering, particularly fluid engineering systems.

• Industrial manufacturing, processing, or maintenance environments.

• Timber treatment, timber processing, sawmilling, or wood products industries.

• Chemical handling, dosing, pumping, or process control systems.

• Technical customer support or field service roles

Skills and Attributes

• Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build trusted customer relationships.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites across Australia.
