About the Role 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Optimisation, you’ll lead the initiative delivery function for our Operations department and manage a portfolio of business improvement initiatives from process design through to execution. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll drive transformation, process and system change while championing a risk aware, customer centric culture.

You'll lead a small, dedicated team, juggle competing priorities and turn ambiguity into clear plans that deliver real results for stakeholders and the wider business.

This is a flexible role open to candidates in NSW, VIC and QLD.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business improvement initiatives across Operations from process design through to execution, developing and maintaining plans and timelines that deliver on time and within scope

• Partner with cross functional teams to keep initiatives aligned to strategic goals, and identify, manage and escalate risks and issues to keep delivery on track

• Monitor and report on portfolio and initiative progress, giving senior leaders and other stakeholders regular, clear updates on status, risks and issues

• Champion best practice delivery, applying Agile ways of working, running sprint cycles, and maintaining key artefacts (Charters, Plans, Decisions, Risks) in a central and collaborative way

• Prioritise initiatives that deliver the best value for effort, and drive continuous improvement and best practice across the organisation

About You

• Substantial experience in project or initiative management, with a proven track record of delivering initiatives 

• Confident managing multiple initiatives at once, working independently or in a team, with hands-on experience using tools such as Microsoft Project or JIRA

• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team of delivery professionals through change and ambiguity

• ​Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field along with insurance industry experience is highly regarded

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus sound practical knowledge of methodologies such as Agile, Lean and Human Centered Design
