About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable Estimator to join our tender team, working alongside experienced senior staff, reporting to management, with genuine scope to grow into a leadership position within the department.

Responsibilities

• Reading and performing takeoffs from plans, drawings and specifications

• Obtaining quotes and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors

• Problem solving and looking at cost effective solutions / alternatives

• Maintain the tender database and registers across all departments

• Prepare first-principle estimates (experience with Expert Estimation desirable)

• Prepare tender submissions, including methodologies and programming

• Conduct Tender handovers with Project Team

• Attend tender site meetings / inspections

• Prepare tender submissions for residential, civil, construction, and drainage works

Skills, Experience & Role Requirement 

• Experience in civil, commercial, and residential earthworks construction

• Experience preparing first-principle estimates and tender submissions

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and stakeholder influencing

• Strong time management and organisational skills

• Ability to extract scope of works from tender documentation

• Proficiency with estimating software and strong general IT skills

• Willingness to learn and ability to work autonomously

• A tertiary qualification in engineering or quantity surveyor - desirable

• Valid driver’s license
