Youth Mental Health Clinican - Recovery and Prevention of Psychosis Team - Dandenong

About the Team

An exciting opportunity is available for a Youth Mental Health clinician to join the Recovery & Prevention of Psychosis Team (RAPPT) within the Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.

RAPPT provides specialist assessment, intervention, consultation, and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team supporting young people experiencing first episode psychosis and complex mental health presentations. You will work across both outreach and clinic-based settings, providing recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care while supporting continuity of care, shared decision-making, and strong family engagement.

About the Role

Join our team as a Youth Mental Health Clinician on fixed term contract to work at the Dandenong Community Health Building based at Dandenong. The Recovery and Prevention of Psychosis team offers flexible intensive service delivery, with a combination of clinic-based and outreach.  

The role is for mental health clinician with training, qualifications and experience in assessing and providing mental health interventions for young people who present with complex mental health problems and associated risk factors. Developing a developmental and psychological formulation to understand a young person’s mental health difficulties and inform intervention planning and care coordination for young people aged between 16-25 years old

About You

To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

• Ability to build therapeutic rapport with a young person
• Demonstrate experience in working with families and the 'system' around a young person
• Complete mental health assessment and interventions for a range of mental health presentations
