About Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods

Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods is a family-owned Tasmanian business that has operated for more than 10 years. We work closely with the local seafood industry, giving us access to some of the freshest and finest seafood in the world.

We are particularly well known for our Tasmanian southern rock lobster dishes and have won multiple awards for our cooked seafood—including being named Australia’s best fish and chips!

Our main venue in Cambridge is open seven days a week for dine-in and takeaway and includes a large marquee for functions. We also attend major events and festivals across Tasmania, including the Taste of Summer, Festivale, Hobart Wine Festival and Dark Mofo.

We are seeking an experienced, reliable chef to join our friendly team on a permanent full-time basis.

About you

Our ideal applicant will:

• Be efficient and production-oriented, particularly during prep time

• Thrive in a busy, fast-paced kitchen

• Have excellent communication skills and contribute positively to our friendly workplace

• Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistency and quality

• Have previous experience preparing and cooking seafood

• Be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team

• Be reliable and take pride in maintaining a clean, well-organised kitchen

• Have access to reliable transport, as there are no public bus services to our Cambridge venue

Key responsibilities

• Preparing seafood, including fish and lobster

• Crumbing and portioning seafood

• Working across the fryer, stove and grill

• Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation

• Contributing to cleaning throughout all areas of the kitchen

• Restocking fridges and storing incoming deliveries

• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy services
