Position: VIC Senior P.I Underwriter

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior P.I Underwriter to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting professional indemnity insurance policies for our clients. You will work closely with our sales team and other underwriters to ensure that all policies are accurately assessed and priced.

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwrite professional indemnity insurance policies for a variety of businesses and professionals

- Review and assess policy applications, endorsements, and renewals

- Analyze risk and determine appropriate coverage and pricing

- Collaborate with sales team to provide support and guidance on underwriting decisions

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in regulations

- Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and procedures

- Handle complex underwriting issues and provide solutions

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders

- Mentor and train junior underwriters as needed

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in professional indemnity underwriting

- Strong understanding of insurance principles and policies

- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and underwriting software

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (preferred)
