INTAKE WORKER - LEAVING VIOLENCE PROGRAM

About the role
The primary responsibility of the Leaving Violence Program Intake Officer is to provide intake and assessment services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and that may be eligible for support to access financial and goods/services for their immediate needs to enable them to live in a safe environment.
Key responsibilities
Provide intake and assessment services direct to individuals, including conducting risk assessments, safety planning and coordinated service responses in a timely and sensitive manner
Ensure that Leaving Violence Program service users files are maintained and up to date in client database/s with relevant documentation in adherence to policies, procedures and associated frameworks
Work in a performance driven environment to meet individual weekly, monthly and quarterly performance targets
Work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member
Maintain privacy and confidentiality practices and organisational policy procedures
Work in a culturally respectful and competent manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained
About you
Understand the effects of trauma and how they relate to victims of Family and Domestic Violence and associated vulnerable family members
Have effective time management skills including punctuality, meeting deadlines, and prioritising tasks
Be a productive, passionate and positive contributor to an established team dedicated to making a difference to vulnerable people's lives
Have a proficient level of computer skills and knowledge of relevant up-to-date technology and software programs
Well-developed and effective communication skills
Hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) before commencement
Hold a current provisional or open Drivers Licence
