Housing Plus
About the role
Support Worker (Female - Identified)
Plus Community, a proud part of Housing Plus, has been providing community services to Regional NSW for nearly 20 years.
At Plus Community, we are dedicated to offering a comprehensive range of support services designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and their families. Our services include Domestic and Family Violence Support, Homelessness Support, Post Release Support, and Housing Support through Housing Plus. Our holistic approach ensures that we not only provide housing but also the crucial support needed to foster independence and choice.
Join Plus Community, where your contributions help create a positive impact and drive meaningful change in the lives of those we serve. Be a part of our mission to provide safety, comfort, housing and support for our communities.
Our strong values drive everything we do. Our team is passionate about providing excellent customer service and making a difference in the various communities in which we work.
After many years of planning and fundraising, we opened The Orchard, a state-of-the-art centre for women and their children escaping domestic violence.
We are currently looking for a Support Worker to provide administrative and operational support to our Bathurst Orchard team.
Duties will include:
- Administration tasks such as collecting client information, updating the databases and filing;
- Answer general enquiries and provide accurate information regarding Housing Plus and its services
- Ensure that clients’ initial contact with the organisation is professional, effective and efficient

- Assist at the Crisis refuge where required, including cleaning, general household activities and shopping for supplies
- Ensure our reception area and drop in room is neat and professional, and that pamphlets and information displayed is up to date and well stocked at all times
- Assist with donations
To be successful, you will ideally have some experience in the community services sector, or be undertaking studies in the area. You will be a team player who is not afraid to jump in and help!
You will also need to be sensitive to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds, have excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, and be highly organised with strong administration and computer skills. The ability to work independently on your own is essential.
You will also need a current Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
In return, we can offer you a great career opportunity to develop your skills within Community Services, and the opportunity to learn from a dedicated team who are passionate about what they do. Other benefits include learning and development opportunities, health and well-being program, reward and recognition and salary packaging.
Please include in your application a cover letter outlining which role interests you and how you meet the above requirements.
This is a part-time contract working 27.5 hours per week, working school hours - 9am - 3pm.
