Job Title: Rental Supervisor
Location: Thredbo Resort
Position Outline:
The MTB Retail Supervisor is primarily responsible to oversee and coordinate the activities of employees during the shift that you are engaged in. A main focus of this role is to assist with the daily operation of MTB Retail store encompassing retail sales, customer service and rental fit out. Working with the MTB Business Manager, your aim is to facilitate the effective and safe operation of MTB Retail & Rental and be a primary contact whilst on shift.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service
Maintain a high level of customer service including greeting guests and providing resort information.
Safety
Adhere to all company policies, practices and procedures.
Adhere to all relative work safe legislations associated to your role.
Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others.
Report any hazard, injury or illness to your manager.
Seek further information and clarification on any areas of uncertainty surrounding company policies, safe work practices and procedures.
Maintain a personal fitness level that enables you to safely perform daily tasks.
Role Specific Duties
Stock Management – Work with the MTB Business Manager in the processing of retail and rental stock accurately. Check on the flow of goods from the store rooms to the sales floor and merchandise replenishment across all locations. Maintaining well presented & functional store/storage areas.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of the retail and rental products to be able to provide advice and guidance for both employees and guests.
Oversee daily operation of all retail cashiering and of all aspects of retail operation using RTP software.
Retail Sales – Perform retail duties including assisting customers with purchases, restocking of retail store, notifying retail manager of low stock levels. Staff are required to have a good understanding & strong knowledge of the large range of products on offer. As well as to be up to date with the current MTB trends.
Window and instore displays are updated regularly and visual impact is maximised.
Rental – Ensure that the correct fit of equipment is provided to meet each individual need. Returned rental gear is cleaned and at a satisfactory hygiene level.
Events –Assisting in the staging of Thredbo MTB events including Cannonball MTB Festival, Australian MTB Interschools & Thredbo Gravity Series.
Cash handling and balancing - Perform sales transactions efficiently and accurately in accordance with company policies and procedures. Accurate cash handling and balancing of daily tills.
Supervisor Duties

Assign MTB retail and rental assistants to tasks & activities ensuring all jobs are handled in a timely manner
Be the primary contact for MTB employees whilst on shift.
Complete daily breaks roster and keep track of staff attendance and ensure consistence levels of service are provided and that staff are given breaks within the Thredbo Roster guidelines wherever possible.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and direction in real time.
Ensure safe work practices and procedures are adhered to.
Promote positive interdepartmental cooperation.
Ensure all daily and weekly tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Report any breaches of company policy and procedure to MTB Business Manager.
Increase workers compensation awareness, actively reduce risk where possible, review and monitor safe work practices. Engage in regular, real time discussions in regards to safety issues.
Comply with the standard of professional appearance and behaviour that are appropriate to your workplace and team.
Promote a positive team work culture and assist in developing resolutions to team conflicts.
Training & Development
Positively respond to and actively participate in job specific training.
Assist in the creation and implementation of training plans, manuals and checklists.
Support the ongoing training of MTB Retail staff and their competency to carry out duties.
Participate in and contribute to staff meetings.
Monitoring the protection of the environment through the safe and efficient management of operations within your area of responsibility, including identification and rectification of any situation that could potentially result in damage to the environment.
Any other duties required in the day-to-day operation of the MTB Business Manager and resort facilities as directed by Supervisors and Managers.
Experience / Qualifications / Requirements:
Proficient in the use of POS systems and inventory software
3 yrs + experience in MTB retail or wholesale sales
Experience in tourism with strong customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Strong customer service knowledge
Previous experience and/ or appropriate level of training in supervising others
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
