Store Manager | Terroir | Port Macquarie

About the role

As Store Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and performance of Terroir Port Macquarie. This is a hands-on, working Store Manager role where you'll be on the shop floor, talking with customers, recommending products, managing stock and orders, merchandising and making sure the store looks its best. As the business grows, you'll also have the opportunity to build and develop the team around you.

Key responsibilities

• Be the face of Terroir Port Macquarie and build genuine relationships with customers
• Provide knowledgeable, approachable recommendations across wine, spirits, beer and specialty food
• Create a welcoming environment where customers enjoy discovering new products
• Work independently and confidently, including periods where you'll operate the store on your own
• Drive sales and identify opportunities to grow the business
• Manage stock, ordering, inventory, merchandising and store presentation
• Understand sales, margins, stock performance and labour, and use these to make good commercial decisions
• Host tastings, activations and customer events
• Build relationships with suppliers, producers and the local community
• Build, train and develop the store team as the business grows

About you

• Have a genuine passion for wine, spirits, food and quality products
• Love engaging with customers and making recommendations
• Have strong wine and spirits knowledge, or the curiosity and drive to develop it further
• Can make product knowledge approachable rather than complicated or intimidating
• Are comfortable working independently and taking responsibility
• Are commercially minded and understand sales, wages, margins, stock and budgets
• Have high standards and strong attention to detail
• Enjoy being on the floor with customers and getting involved in the day-to-day business
• Want the opportunity to help grow a developing retail concept
• Hold an RSA and meet the requirements of the relevant liquor licence
