More than half of Queensland’s international trade, by volume, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay, and Hay Point, which makes us one of Queensland’s largest Port Authorities. We take great care to provide safe, and competitive seaport services to efficiently facilitate imports and exports through our Queensland ports.
Reporting to the Team Leader- Maintenance, this role delivers NQBP’s welding and fabrication services to existing and potential customers and undertakes shipping activities. This includes fabrication and maintenance of structures and plant and equipment, sourcing and costing resources & supplies and maintaining all fabrication and welding equipment. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to implement improvements that drive safety, effectiveness and cost savings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Broad knowledge in general civil and structural construction, maritime or seaport knowledge, current high-risk licences and willingness to obtain and maintain a Coxswain Grade 1 near coastal certificate is considered desirable criteria.
