Small Bar Crows Nest
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum

Small Bar Crows Nest is an established 120-seat tapas-style restaurant that has been part of the Crows Nest community for over 10 years. We pride ourselves on great food, excellent service, and a hardworking but enjoyable team environment.

We’re looking for an experienced Chef / Cook to join our team full-time and take a hands-on role in the day-to-day running of our kitchen.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has formal culinary/hospitality qualifications and/or 2–3+ years’ experience in a busy commercial kitchen

• Has experience with tapas, small plates, or a similar style of cuisine

• Is confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• Has experience supervising a kitchen and small team

• Takes pride in food quality, consistency, presentation, and cleanliness

• Has a good understanding of food safety, stock control, ordering, and kitchen costs

• Is reliable, organised, and works well with both kitchen and floor teams

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard

• Supervising and supporting chefs and cooks

• Managing kitchen preparation and service

• Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards

• Contributing to menu development and weekly specials

• Managing stocktakes, ordering, portion control, and wastage

• Working with the General Manager on rostering, staffing, and cost of goods

• Working closely with floor staff to deliver an excellent customer experience

• Preparing and organising the kitchen for the following day’s service

• $75,000 – $85,000 per annum

• Full-time position
