Workforce Engine Workforce Engine is recruiting on behalf of Ideal Steel Fixing, a well-established steel fixing and construction company based in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Steel Fixer to join its growing team. This is a full-time opportunity for candidates with practical steel fixing experience who take pride in quality workmanship, safety and teamwork.

Benefits Salary: $80,000 – $87,500 per annum + superannuation, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant work experience. This is a full-time position offering long-term employment with an established South Australian construction business and the opportunity to work across a range of residential and commercial projects. Task & responsibilities Measure, cut, bend and install reinforcing steel bars and mesh in accordance with plans and specifications.

Position and secure steel reinforcement within formwork for concrete pours. Read and interpret construction drawings and reinforcement plans. Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Inspect reinforcement layouts for accuracy and quality. Work with supervisors and construction teams to coordinate steel fixing activities. Follow workplace health and safety requirements and maintain a safe work area.

Qualification & experience Relevant AQF Certificate II or higher qualification (or equivalent), or at least 2 years of relevant steel fixing experience. Demonstrated practical experience in steel fixing Ability to read construction drawings and reinforcement plans. Sound knowledge of steel fixing techniques, tools and workplace safety.

Valid White Card. Good physical fitness, attention to detail and teamwork skills. Driver’s licence and relevant construction tickets are desirable.

Willingness to travel to project sites within South Australia as required.
