Operator / Drainer

About the role

Fourge Civil is a small, family-operated civil construction company looking for an experienced Excavator Operator and Drainer to join our team. We're looking for experienced, reliable people who enjoy being part of a team.

Key responsibilities

Excavator Operator:

• Operating excavators across a range of civil construction projects
• Excavating trenches for drainage, sewer and water services
• Detailed excavation around existing underground services
• Excavating and trimming to required levels and grades
• Loading trucks and moving materials
• Bulk and detailed earthworks
• Working from civil construction plans and set-out levels
• Daily care and general upkeep of machinery
• Working closely with the team

Drainer:

• Installation of stormwater drainage, sewer and water infrastructure works
• Laying and installing pipes to specified levels and grades
• Installation of pits, manholes and other drainage structures
• Setting and checking pipe levels and grades
• Reading and working from civil drainage plans
• Trench preparation, bedding and backfilling
• Working alongside excavator operators and other crew members
• General civil construction duties as required

About you

Excavator Operator:

• Proven experience operating excavators in civil construction
• Ability to work accurately to levels and grades
• Ability to read and understand civil plans
• Good machine control and attention to detail
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Truck License (Not Essential)
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work well within a small team

Drainer:

• Strong pipe laying and drainage experience
• Ability to confidently work to levels and grades
• Ability to read and understand civil construction plans
• Good understanding of civil construction practices
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a small crew
