Trainee Project Officer – Wajarri Yamaji Aboriginal Corporation (WYAC)
Are you passionate about caring for Country and supporting your community? WYAC is looking for a Trainee Project Officer in our Joint Management team.
This role includes the opportunity to complete qualifications in Business or Project Management, and the successful applicant will be supported to undertake this qualification as part of the traineeship.
What you’ll do:
Assist with the coordination and administration of joint management body meetings
Assist with the tracking of actions, tasks and outcomes from meetings
Work closely with Elders, Traditional Owners and the Wajarri community
Undertake training and professional development to upskill
Assist with the planning of on-country field trips and activities
Support and uphold WYAC and Joint Management compliance with relevant legislation and governance policy and procedures
We’re looking for someone who:
Has and interest in community development or project management
Is connected to Wajarri country and community
Is confident in liaising with community members
Willingness to learn about Joint Management, including; conservation, land tenure and culture and heritage values
Is wanting to start or further their career pathway by developing their skills and qualifications
