Disability Support Worker

About the role

Sunridge Support Solutions is seeking experienced, reliable and genuinely person-centred Disability Support Workers for current and upcoming opportunities across Cannon Hill, Eight-Mile Plains, Drewvale, Logan and the Redlands. Current opportunities include regular five-hour daytime shifts from Monday to Friday, possible Saturday work and relief shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Providing respectful, person-centred NDIS support.
• Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting.
• Providing continence support, including changing continence products.
• Completing safe transfers and repositioning.
• Supporting participants who use wheelchairs, hoists and other mobility equipment.
• Assisting with daily living activities and household tasks.
• Supporting community access, appointments and social participation.
• Supporting participants to build independence and achieve their individual goals.
• Following participant support plans, risk assessments and mealtime plans.
• Completing clear and accurate progress notes and incident reports.

About you

• Previous hands-on disability or personal-care experience.
• Experience providing personal care and continence support.
• Experience completing safe transfers and supporting wheelchair users.
• Sound manual-handling knowledge and practical experience.
• Professional-level spoken and written English.
• The ability to communicate clearly with participants, families and other professionals.
• The ability to independently complete accurate progress notes, incident reports and workplace communication.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach.
• Appropriate Australian working rights.
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
