Excavator Operator – Residential Site Cuts (West & North Melbourne)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team working across Melbourne's western and northern suburbs. This role is focused primarily on residential site cuts, with ongoing work available for the right person. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, turns up on time, operates safely and efficiently, and can consistently produce high-quality results without constant supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out residential site cuts to specification and within required tolerances.

• Operate excavators safely, efficiently, and professionally.

• Read and work from plans, levels, and site instructions.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite.

• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.

• Work alongside truck drivers, supervisors, and other site personnel.

• Identify and report site hazards, issues, or potential delays.

• Represent the company professionally on site at all times.

About you

• Proven experience completing residential site cuts.

• Strong understanding of levels and finished site presentation.

• Own reliable transport and valid driver's licence.

• Ability to work unsupervised and manage your time effectively.

• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

• Commitment to workplace safety.

• HC Truck Licence (preferred).

• Construction Industry White Card.

• Experience operating a range of earthmoving equipment (preferred).
