Head of Technology

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Technology to lead Delta’s Technology function and ensure our technology environment, systems, digital capability and cybersecurity continue to enable the needs and future direction of our business.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a complex operational environment. You’ll lead a capable Technology team, continue the modernisation of our technology environment and build strong partnerships across Delta to ensure technology delivers real operational and business value.

The role works across our Sydney CBD office and Central Coast operations, including Vales Point Power Station and Chain Valley Colliery.

What you’ll do

You will lead Delta’s Technology function, translating business strategy and operational needs into clear technology priorities and ensuring our systems, infrastructure and digital capability support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Working closely with leaders across Delta, you’ll bring a whole-of-business perspective to technology — balancing transformation and innovation with the reliability, security and risk disciplines required in a critical infrastructure environment.

You will:

• Shape and deliver Delta’s technology roadmap and priorities aligned with business needs.
• Lead secure, reliable and fit-for-purpose technology services, infrastructure, enterprise applications and digital platforms.
• Drive the simplification, integration and modernisation of our technology environment to improve operational effectiveness and employee experience.
• Lead technology and cybersecurity risk, resilience and critical infrastructure obligations, including SOCI Act compliance.
• Lead technology investment and transformation, ensuring strong governance, commercial discipline and measurable business value.
• Strengthen the use of systems, data and business intelligence to support better decision-making.
• Build and develop a capable, accountable and high-performing Technology team.
• Partner across Delta to challenge existing approaches, identify opportunities and create shared ownership of technology outcomes.

You’ll ideally have

• Significant senior technology leadership experience within a complex organisation, ideally within energy, mining, infrastructure, industrial or another asset-intensive environment.
• Broad experience across technology operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, digital transformation and major technology projects.
• Demonstrated experience translating business strategy and operational requirements into practical technology roadmaps and priorities.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary cybersecurity, technology risk, governance, resilience and business continuity.
• Experience leading significant technology transformation and organisational change while maintaining operational reliability.
• Strong commercial capability, including technology investment, budgets, vendors and external partnerships.
• Demonstrated success building and leading capable, engaged and accountable technology teams.
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline and/or significant equivalent professional experience.
