All-Rounder – Rest Area Maintenance

Wolfcon is a roadside maintenance and vegetation control company based in Goulburn, with crews working across NSW. We look after major contracts for Transport for NSW, regional councils, private companies and the general public.

We are looking for an All-Rounder to join our Port Macquarie team, working at roadside rest areas along the Pacific and Oxley Highways.

The role is mainly focused on keeping the rest areas clean, tidy and well maintained. It is a hands-on job and involves regular physical work.

The job involves:

• Cleaning and maintaining rest areas

• Emptying and moving rubbish bins

• Picking up rubbish and keeping the grounds clean and tidy

• Vegetation control around rest areas

• Minor repairs and maintenance

• Small construction and labouring jobs

• General upkeep of rest area facilities

• Completing basic digital job records and inspections

• Working both independently and as part of a small team

The work involves lifting, carrying, bending, walking and other manual tasks, so you need to be physically fit and comfortable with this type of work.

What we're looking for:

• Reliable and punctual

• Physically fit and able to handle regular manual work

• Comfortable lifting and moving rubbish bins and materials

• Practical and able to use basic tools

• Happy working outdoors in all weather

• Able to work on your own and as part of a small team

• Good attitude and willing to help with a range of tasks

• Current P2 or above driver's licence, able to drive a manual vehicle and to tow and manoeuvre a trailer safely

• White Card

You will also need to be available to travel and work away occasionally, generally for 1–5 days at a time, if required.

Experience

Experience in cleaning, labouring, landscaping, vegetation control, construction, property maintenance or similar work would be an advantage, but is not essential.

ChemCert and First Aid are also an advantage but not essential.

Training will be provided where required.

Hours & Pay

The position is casual, averaging around 20–30 hours per week.

Hours can vary throughout the year, with increased work generally available during school holidays and around public holidays, when rest areas are busier.

$33.85 per hour + applicable penalty rates and allowances, in accordance with the Cleaning Services Award 2020.
