The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Alarm Assessment Officer to join FRV's Community Safety team and contribute to initiatives that enhance community safety and reduce false alarms across Victoria. The role is responsible for delivering timely and consistent assessments of alarm-related matters, ensuring outcomes align with legislative requirements and organisational standards. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will support education and awareness initiatives, drive compliance, improve customer understanding, and contribute to safer outcomes for the Victorian community.
Functional Accountabilities:
Assess false alarm, Hazmat and Salvage incidents in line with legislation, policy and business requirements
Manage TRACS workflows and reminders to ensure timely and compliant outcomes.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to support false alarm reduction and improve compliance
Contribute to education, engagement and awareness initiatives that promote community safety
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports to support operational and strategic objectives
The Team
The Community Safety team plays a vital role in enhancing fire safety and community resilience across Victoria. Working closely with industry, government and key stakeholders, the team supports safer built environments through fire safety initiatives, evidence-based programs, policy development, safety reform and false alarm reduction strategies. Through collaboration, research and advocacy, the team helps drive continuous improvements that protect communities and support operational firefighters.

What you will need to Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong customer service skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SAP, TRACS, AIRS and Fire com
Fire Safety qualification or demonstrated relevant experience in fire safety practices and compliance
Strong verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and deliver clear, professional advice
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information, assess issues and make sound recommendations
Proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes within required timeframes
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate and maintain productive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
A commitment to continuous learning and development, with the ability to quickly acquire and apply new knowledge, systems and processes
