Travel Specialist - The Classic Safari Company

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-travelled, polished and highly organised traveller who understands that travel with The Classic Safari Company is about far more than booking flights and accommodation.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering tailormade journeys for premium clients, from the initial enquiry through to booking and post-safari follow-up. You will be comfortable managing multiple clients and complex itineraries simultaneously, while maintaining an exceptional level of attention to detail and personal service.

The successful candidate will ideally bring specialist knowledge of one or more of our key destinations, Africa first and foremost, the Indian Subcontinent, South America/Antarctica &/or the Middle East.

You will have a genuine love for nature, the wilderness, wildlife, cultures & discovering and understanding our destinations at a deeper level.

Key responsibilities

• Design and sell bespoke wilderness, wildlife & cultural travel experiences tailored to individual client requirements

• Develop detailed itineraries incorporating accommodation, private guides, experiences, transfers, and international air travel

• Build strong, trusted relationships with discerning and high-value clients

• Manage multiple client enquiries and bookings simultaneously, to ensure a flawless delivery from the first call to the post travel follow up

• Provide a highly personalised and responsive level of client service, working closely our operations teams

• Liaise with international suppliers, lodges, hotels, DMCs, airlines and other travel partners

• Prepare professional proposals, itineraries, quotations and booking documentation

• Maintain accurate records and ensure all administrative and booking details are meticulously managed

• Manage timelines, deposits, payments, ticketing, and final travel documentation

• Proactively communicate with clients before, during and after their journey

About you

• Proven experience in bespoke or tailor-made travel

• Strong specialist destination knowledge, particularly across Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, South America/Antarctica &/or the Middle East

• A deep love and appreciation for nature, the wilderness and the great outdoors, with a genuine affinity for conservation, responsible tourism and community-led initiatives

• A genuine passion for travel and a well-developed personal knowledge of our niche destinations

• Experience working with discerning or high-net-worth clients

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a confident, warm and polished telephone manner

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong administrative capabilities

• Excellent computer and systems literacy

• The ability to manage multiple clients, enquiries and deadlines without compromising service

• Strong itinerary planning and problem-solving skills
