Education Consultant - Initial 3 Month Contract

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Education Consultant to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of children with disability.

Position Purpose:
The Education Consultant will work to build the capacity of children with disability and their support networks (specifically within the school and family context) to assist them to achieve their goals and aspirations. The Education Consultant will deliver exceptional individualised customer service to improve educational outcomes for children within the education system.

This position is offered on a 0.8 to full time basis for a 3-month contract ending 31st December 2026, with a possibility of extension dependant on grant funding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build capacity of children with disability within the early years, school, & home settings for the purposing of improving educational attainment and quality of life.

• Support education and community settings to develop practices to promote effective and ethical practices for inclusive participation for people with disability.

• Work with participants and families to maximise the potential of their Oneplans / IEPs and NDIS plans, and deliver outcomes that match with their goals. 

• Provide personalised professional development designed to support the child within the education setting to staff and peers

• You will be required to travel to regional South Australia to visit education sites for 2 – days at a time. This will occur once per semester.

About You:
You are a dedicated professional with a passion for inclusion and a strong background in education or special education. Your ability to foster positive relationships, deliver tailored training, and stay organised will drive the success of this role.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in teaching or special education.

• Experience in education contexts with a deep understanding of disability, inclusive practices, and relevant policy frameworks.

• Experience liaising with leadership from all educational sectors.

• Highly organised with effective time management and administrative skills.

• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication abilities.

• Strategic thinker capable of building and maintaining networks.

Desirable Experience:

• Professional learning facilitation for educators.

• Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) implementation within education settings.

Employment Requirements:

• Current NDIS Worker Check, DHS Working with Children Check, and National Police Certificate.

• RRHAN-EC certification (renewable every three years).

• Valid Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region.

Special Conditions:

• Occasional out-of-hours work may be required.

• Intrastate regional travel is a key component of the role.
