Bookkeeper & Office Administrator (School hours | 9am- 3pm Monday- Friday)

B & K Cabinets is a well established, family-owned cabinet making business based in Bayswater, Victoria. We specialise in designing, manufacturing and installing high quality custom joinery throughout Melbourne, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and customer service.

We're covering a 9-month maternity leave contract, commencing Monday 28 September 2026, and looking for an organised and reliable bookkeeper/administrator who's confident running the finance and admin side of a small business with autonomy and trust. You'll report directly to the director, with no layers of management in between and you'll get a proper handover from the person you're covering - so you're walking in supported from day 1.

This position is based in our Bayswater office, working:

Monday-Friday

9:00am- 3:00pm

Your responsibilities will include:

Bookkeeping & Payroll

• Processing weekly payroll and superannuation

• Accounts payable and receivable

• Processing supplier invoices and paying bills

• Bank reconciliation

• Maintaining accurate records in Xero

• Liaising with our external accountant
  

Office & Administration

• Answering incoming phone calls and managing the company email inbox

• Welcoming suppliers, sales reps and visitors to our office

• General office administration and filing

• Ordering office supplies and hardware for upcoming projects

• Administrative support for the director

• Keeping the office/showroom clean, organised and well presented
  

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Previous experience in bookkeeping and office administration

• Strong working knowledge of Xero

• Experience processing payroll

• Excellent organisational and time managements skills

• High attention to detail

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• The ability to work independently and use initiative

• A friendly, professional and reliable approach
  

• Genuine school friendly, part time hours (Monday to Friday, 9am - 3pm)

• $30- $35 per hour, depending on experience
