About the role

Mt Evelyn Smash Repairs is seeking an experienced Qualified Panel Beater to join our team in Mount Evelyn, Victoria. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a reputable automotive repair business serving the local community. You will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicle panels and bodywork to the highest standards, playing a crucial role in delivering quality outcomes for our customers. This role is based on-site at our Mount Evelyn location.

Key responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods and procedures

• Remove and replace damaged panels, doors, bumpers and other bodywork components

• Use hand tools, power tools and specialised equipment to reshape, straighten and align vehicle panels

• Prepare surfaces for painting by filling, sanding and priming damaged areas

• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and vehicle manufacturer specifications

• Maintain detailed records of work completed and materials used

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress and timelines

• Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company procedures

What we're looking for

• Current formal qualification as a Panel Beater or equivalent recognised certification

• Proven experience working in automotive smash repair or panel beating

• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and panel beating equipment

• Strong knowledge of vehicle panel repair techniques and methodologies

• Ability to read and interpret vehicle repair specifications and technical documentation

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work

• Current driver's license is desirable
