About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Wyndham’s Events team and help shape how one of Victoria’s fastest growing communities comes together, celebrates and experiences its municipality.
Reporting to the Coordinator Events & Placemaking, you will lead the Events service, including the planning and delivery of Council events and festivals, community and organisational event support, and the permitting of Council open spaces for community events and filming.
You will provide strong people leadership while also helping shape the future direction of the service through implementation of Council’s Festivals and Events Framework, event evaluation, continuous improvement and strategic advice.
Working across Council and with community, government, industry and event partners, you will build strong relationships and provide trusted advice on event delivery, governance, safety, investment and future opportunities. This role suits someone who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will be comfortable leading a team, managing complex event environments, improving systems and processes, and stepping into the detail when needed.
As events regularly occur outside standard business hours, flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays will be required.
