Maintenance Carpenter/Handyman

About the role

Complete varied handyman, carpentry, repair and property-maintenance work safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Own each assigned job from arrival to completion by confirming scope, protecting the site, working within allocated hours, documenting progress and communicating clearly with clients and the office.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance and carpentry work to the confirmed scope, quality standard and timeframe.

• Review instructions, plan tools/materials and raise access, scope, safety or delay issues early.

• Communicate arrival, progress and completion clearly with clients, the office and other trades.

• Take clear before, progress (where relevant) and after photos and attach them to the correct job.

• Submit a daily job memo stating work completed, current status, remaining work, materials and return visits.

• Record hours, breaks, notes, receipts and materials accurately against the correct job each day.

• Protect client property, keep the site safe and tidy, dispose of waste correctly and care for tools/equipment.

About you

• Carpentry or property-maintenance skills, with at least 1–2 years' relevant experience.

• Current White Card and any licences/tickets required for assigned work.

• Proven ability to manage and complete jobs in set timeframes with limited supervision.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer-service skills.

• Impeccable personal presentation, a can-do attitude and ability to work independently as part of a small team.

• Confidence using a smartphone/job-management system and commitment to quality, safety and company processes.

• Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia, satisfactory references and willingness to undertake a police check.

• Provide a vehicle and tools required for the role.
