Business Development Estimator

About the role

The Business Development Estimator is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for our company which specialises in the manufacture and installation of custom commercial air-conditioning ventilation systems and ductwork.
The Estimator works closely with clients to understand their needs and provide accurate estimates for projects, ensuring profitability for the company. They also develop relationships with potential clients and maintain existing ones, while keeping up to date with industry trends and competitors. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience. Key responsibilities

• Analyse project specifications and requirements to ensure projects align with the company's offering and direction of growth

• Effectively manage a complex sale cycle including qualifications, sales strategy development, presenting the value proposition, demonstration, proposal writing, pricing, negotiation and closing

• Effectively manage client relationships

• Identify new business opportunities for the growth of the company

• Conduct market research to identify new segments for the company

• Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure successful completion of works won

• Achieve quarterly quota assignments and forecast activity accurately with management

• Ensure accurate and effective document management

• Collaborate with management to upskill junior staff

About you

• 3+ years of experience in the estimating, sales and or design of commercial air conditioning ductwork/ventilation systems or similar

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software

• Solid understanding of industry and market trends

• Experience in similar sales or business development

• Right to Work in Australia
