SAP S/4HANA Test Lead

Role Purpose

Lead end-to-end test strategy, governance and delivery for a multi-workstream SAP S/4HANA program, assuring business readiness across Finance, Procurement, Planning, Real Estate, Production, Fleet, Portfolio Management and Enterprise Asset Management.

FC03 Foundation Finance • FC04 Ariba Network • FC06 Planning & Forecasting • FC07 Real Estate • CC03 Production • CC05 Fleet Management • CC07 Portfolio & Program Management (MVP) • CC08 Enterprise Asset Management (MVP), including OpenText xECM and GEF.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the program Test Strategy, integrated Test Plan, governance model, quality gates, entry/exit criteria and test assurance approach.
• Lead planning and execution across system integration, end-to-end, regression, UAT, data migration, security/authorisation, performance, cutover rehearsal and post-deployment validation.
• Coordinate functional workstreams, business SMEs, the system integrator, technical teams and third parties; manage onshore/offshore test resources and dependencies.
• Assure cross-functional business processes such as Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Budget-to-Forecast, Asset Lifecycle, Maintenance-to-Completion, Manufacturing-to-Inventory and Project-to-Close.
• Govern test scenario design, requirements traceability, test data, environments, interfaces, evidence, defect lifecycle and audit-ready documentation.
• Lead integration assurance across S/4HANA, Ariba, OpenText xECM, GEF/GIS, banking, reporting, fleet and other boundary applications, including error handling and reconciliation.
• Drive risk-based regression and automation, establish reusable test assets, and align execution with SAP Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, Tosca or the selected toolchain.
• Chair defect triage and quality reviews; report progress, coverage, defect trends, risks and release readiness to program leadership, with clear go-live recommendations.
• Support cutover, hypercare, knowledge transfer and transition of the regression pack and test operating model to BAU teams. 

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years in software quality engineering/testing, including at least 5 years leading SAP test delivery on complex transformation programs.
• Demonstrated delivery experience on SAP S/4HANA implementations or migrations, covering large-scale SIT, end-to-end testing and UAT.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Finance and Procurement, with practical exposure to one or more of Ariba, EAM/PM, Production Planning, Real Estate, EPPM/PPM or Fleet processes.
• Experience with data migration validation, interface/API testing, SAP Fiori, role and authorisation testing, Segregation of Duties, and non-functional test coordination.
• Proficiency in test management and defect tools such as SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, Jira, Azure DevOps or ALM/Quality Center; automation exposure to Tricentis Tosca is desirable.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder communication, vendor coordination, analytical problem-solving and executive reporting skills. 

Preferred Skills and Experience

ISTQB Foundation or equivalent testing certification. SAP S/4HANA functional certification, SAP Activate exposure, or experience in government, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing or other asset-intensive environments is advantageous.
