We are seeking an effective and energetic Occupational Therapist (part time or full time) to join our highly skilled, dedicated, and growing team.
About the role
At Giant Steps, we integrate therapy into our daily programs to deliver motivating, engaging, strengths-based and individualised programs for adults in the autism and autistic community.
You will collaborate with participants and their families to work towards their NDIS goals, ensuring therapy is meaningful and individualised.
Key Responsibilities:
Create individual, person-centred goals
Assess participant needs
Align therapeutic goals with individual NDIS goals
Develop strategies to support goal progression + regulation, skill development and independence
Design meaningful, engaging programs for participants
Review goal and program progression
Report on progress for NDIS purposes
Collaborate with Giant Steps Support Workers, and therapists
Support the skill and knowledge development of support workers through staff training
Liaise with families

Essential Criteria:
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy OR Masters of Occupational Therapy with a recognised university.
Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.
Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC).
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a transdisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with families.
Commitment to professional development and maintenance of current evidence-based practices.
Advanced computer skills including report writing and record keeping.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Desired criteria:
Competency using an Occupational Therapy framework in assessment and intervention for adults in the autism and autistic community.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience understanding sensory processing and intervention strategies.
Experience working within the NDIS framework and supporting the autism and autistic community.
