Mechanical Engineer – Mining & Construction

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support mining, construction and infrastructure projects across Tanami, Alice Springs and other Northern Territory locations.

The role will combine site-based engineering support with hybrid working arrangements, providing technical assistance across construction, installation, commissioning, maintenance and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

-Provide mechanical engineering support across mining and construction sites.

- Review mechanical drawings, designs, specifications and technical documentation.

- Support installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment.

- Work with pumps, piping, valves, rotating equipment, conveyors and associated mining infrastructure.

- Conduct site inspections and resolve construction and technical issues.

- Coordinate with contractors, supervisors, vendors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

- Support shutdowns, maintenance activities and equipment upgrades.

- Ensure works comply with project requirements, Australian Standards, safety and quality requirements.

- Prepare technical reports, scopes of work and engineering documentation.

About You

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

- Experience within mining, construction, resources or heavy industry.

- Experience working on active construction or operational sites.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and engineering practices.

- Good communication and problem-solving skills.

- Full driver’s licence.

- Willingness to travel to remote Northern Territory sites.

Pay: $130,275.43 – $150,230.00 per year
