Primary objective
The Administrative Coordinator provides high-level administrative coordination, workflow management and reporting support to ensure
the effective delivery of the Custody Assurance and Review Unit (CARU) assurance, review and organisational insight functions. The role
underpins CARU’s review and reporting capability by managing end-to-end administrative workflows, maintaining key registers and data
sets, and supporting the development of reporting and governance products. Working closely with the Principal Reporting and Insights
Analyst, the position contributes to reporting cycles, data integrity and quality assurance processes, enabling the accurate collation,
validation and presentation of information that informs governance, assurance and organisational learning.
Context statement
The CARU is a specialist, centralised assurance function within the Northern Territory Police Force, responsible for independent review
of custody-related incidents and use of force matters. CARU supports consistent decision-making, early identification of risk, coronial
preparedness and organisational learning.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative, reporting and workflow coordination support to the CARU, ensuring review
activities, reporting schedules and information management processes are maintained efficiently and in accordance with established
service standards.
2. The role coordinates the intake and tracking of review matters, maintains registers, records and reporting information, and supports
the preparation of governance and assurance documentation.
3. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, the position assists with quality assurance, data integrity and information
management activities, provides procedural support and advice on administrative processes, and contributes to the effective
operation of the unit through accurate record keeping, coordination and timely information management.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in an administrative or coordination role within a government, justice or regulated environment.
2. Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information.
4. Sound written and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
1. Experience in records management, document control or workflow coordination.
2. Experience supporting governance, reporting or assurance functions.
