Endfire Engineering is a proudly Australian-owned specialist fire protection contractor delivering complex projects across infrastructure, defence, healthcare, corrections, petrochemical, commercial, industrial and transport sectors throughout Australia and New Zealand.
As our Sydney operations continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team and support the successful delivery of major projects across New South Wales.
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Projects Team in Sydney.
Working closely with Project Managers, engineers, technicians, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, you will help manage and coordinate the technical and engineering requirements of our projects.
The role will support project planning, procurement, technical coordination, cost control, contract compliance and project documentation to help ensure work is delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with mechanical piping systems within petrochemical, processing, oil and gas, industrial or similarly complex project environments.
Plan, schedule and coordinate engineering and project delivery activities
Review drawings, specifications, contracts and technical documentation
Coordinate engineering deliverables, procurement, materials and equipment requirements
Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
Monitor project progress, costs, risks and delivery requirements
Support project forecasting, cost control and variation management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
Identify technical or delivery issues and coordinate practical solutions
Provide technical guidance and support to project and site team members
Assist with task allocation, team coordination and mentoring
Monitor compliance with contractual, technical, quality and safety requirements
Work across multiple engineering and construction disciplines to keep projects moving
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
At least three years’ experience in project engineering or a similar project delivery role
Demonstrated experience working with mechanical piping systems
Experience within petrochemical, processing, oil and gas, industrial or complex construction environments
Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting project programs, budgets, procurement and cost control
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and contracts
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A practical, proactive approach and the confidence to work across both site and office environments
Experience using Microsoft Office and project platforms such as Procore and Aconex
A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
Experience within fire protection will be highly regarded but is not essential. Experience with AutoCAD or Revit will also be advantageous.
