Role Title: Deputy Project Manager
Role Description:
The Wakulda Uplift Deputy Project Manager supports the AIR6500 project. Working closely with stakeholders and under broad direction, the role applies project management expertise to support governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, scheduling, workforce planning and reporting activities.The candidate will responsible for engaging with stakeholders to define and manage the core aspects of the Wakulda uplift project such as cost, schedule and scope. The incumbent exercises significant autonomy, influences stakeholders at senior levels and contributes to project strategy, planning and execution in accordance with Defence and CASG project management frameworks.
Working under broad directions, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of project management artefacts supporting project delivery and governance. Provide specialist project management advice to the Senior Project Manager and stakeholders on project governance, delivery and performance. Coordinate and monitor project schedules, milestones, dependencies and deliverables to support achievement of program objectives. Facilitate project risk and opportunity management activities, including identification, analysis, mitigation and reporting. Lead stakeholder engagement activities across Defence, Industry and international partner organisations to support project outcomes. Develop and maintain project reporting, performance management information and executive-level briefings. Contribute to project planning, procurement support activities, governance reviews and decision-support processes. Support Integrated Project Team meetings, governance boards and stakeholder forums. Assist with preparation of export-related governance, reporting and approval documentation. Review project artefacts and contractor deliverables to ensure quality, completeness and alignment with project objectives. Contribute to organisational knowledge management, lessons learned and continuous improvement activities. Participate in Defence, CASG and program-specific training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Current and relevant Project Management experience in complex project environments.
Essential criteria:
Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level. Eligibility to access US Export Controlled (ITAR) information. Demonstrated experience delivering complex Defence or Government projects within project, program or capability environments. Demonstrated experience in governance, scheduling, reporting, risk management and stakeholder management. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under broad direction. Demonstrated ability to prepare strategic documentation, governance products and executive-level briefing material. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
This role requires the candidate to work onsite, with limited WFH availability.
