Velmec Automotive is seeking a Qualified Automotive Technician to join our team in Gympie, QLD. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles, ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and workmanship. What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge

• Performing log book servicing and carrying out repairs to passenger and light commercial vehicles

• Conducting comprehensive vehicle inspections and identifying areas requiring repair or maintenance

• Repairing/upgrading all aspects of brakes and suspension systems

• Adhering to health and safety regulations and workshop best practices

• Staying current with new vehicle technologies and repair techniques

What we're looking for

• Current automotive technician qualification

• Proven experience working as an automotive technician in a professional workshop setting

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot complex vehicle issues

• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools

• Knowledge of current vehicle safety standards and regulations

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport

• Ability to work independently and as a team

• Willingness to continuously update skills and knowledge in automotive technology
