Hospitality Team Member – Burleigh Heads Fishmongers

About the role

Burleigh Heads Fishmongers is looking for a reliable and motivated Hospitality Team Member to join our team.

We’re a busy, established local business in the heart of Burleigh Heads with a strong team and a great working environment. With the warmer months approaching and our busiest time of year ahead, it’s a great time to join us.

This is a casual position with approximately 15–30 hours per week available, however we’re flexible for the right person. The exact hours and shift mix can depend on your availability, experience, what you’re looking for and where you fit best within the team.

There is potential for morning shifts involving opening, setup and preparation, later shifts involving customer service and cooking, or a combination of both. For the right person, there is also potential to take on more hours and responsibility over time.

The role itself is varied and hands-on. You’ll work directly with customers while also being involved in the day-to-day operation of the shop. We’re looking for someone who is friendly and presentable with customers, but equally happy to get hands-on and help wherever needed.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing friendly and efficient customer service

• Taking customer orders and operating the POS

• Cooking and preparing food while following our processes and standards

• Assisting with morning setup, preparation and opening duties where applicable

• Preparing and packing customer orders

• Assisting with general food and seafood preparation

• Restocking and keeping work areas organised

• Cleaning and maintaining a high standard throughout the shop

• Working efficiently alongside the team during busy periods

• Helping with general shop duties as required

• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment

• Hands-on and willing to get involved in different areas of the shop

• Able to follow processes and maintain consistent standards

• A good communicator who works well as part of a team

• Flexible and willing to learn

Previous hospitality, retail or customer service experience is preferred, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important. Training will be provided.
