Head Chef

Muses Wine Bar is looking for an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen.

Muses is a neighbourhood Greek wine bar inspired. Our menu focuses on traditional Greek flavours presented with a modern approach.

We are looking for a Head Chef who can respect this identity while bringing strong leadership, consistency and their own ideas to the kitchen.

The role

As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and continued development of the kitchen, including:

• Leading, training and developing the kitchen team

• Maintaining consistency across food quality, presentation and service

• Developing seasonal dishes that remain aligned with the Muses concept

• Managing food costs, labour and kitchen profitability

• Completing menu costings and maintaining accurate recipes

• Managing ordering, stock control, preparation and waste

• Creating effective rosters according to business requirements

• Maintaining food-safety, cleaning and compliance standards

• Building strong communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams

• Leading services calmly and maintaining an organised kitchen

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to step up

• Is confident managing a small, hands-on kitchen

• Has understanding of Mediterranean or Greek cuisine

• Can balance creativity with commercial responsibility

• Understands food costs, labour management, ordering and stock control

• Communicates clearly and leads by example

• Takes pride in developing people and creating a positive kitchen culture

• Is organised, reliable and consistent during service

• Has full working rights in Australia

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a distinctive neighbourhood restaurant, work closely with the owners and help shape the next chapter of Muses Wine Bar.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience
