Following a significant period of growth Landmark is continuing to expand its design capability and is seeking an experienced Design Manager – Delivery to join its Construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within an integrated developer-builder environment and play a key role in the successful delivery of large-scale residential projects across Sydney.
About the RoleReporting into the Construction Team, the Design Manager – Delivery will take ownership of design coordination and delivery from post-approval through to project completion.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure design outcomes are coordinated, compliant, buildable and aligned with programme, cost and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Lead and manage the design delivery process from post-approval through to construction completion.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Manage design documentation, RFIs, design changes and technical queries throughout construction.
• Undertake design and buildability reviews to identify risks, opportunities and potential construction issues.
• Ensure design documentation is coordinated, compliant and suitable for construction.
• Work closely with the construction team to resolve design issues and maintain programme.
• Manage design changes and support value engineering initiatives where required.
• Manage authority applications, approvals, correspondence, inspections and certification requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor consultant performance, deliverables and design programme.
• Support compliance with relevant legislation, codes, standards and Design and Building Practitioners (DBP) requirements.
• Identify and manage design risks, coordinating timely resolutions with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain strong communication between the design and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
About YouTo be successful, you will bring strong technical knowledge, practical construction understanding and proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams through the construction phase.
You will have:
• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience within the construction and property industry.
• 7+ years' experience in Design Management, Project Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or a related role.
• Strong experience managing design delivery on large-scale residential, mixed-use or Class 2 projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation and buildability.
• Proven experience coordinating architects, engineers and specialist consultants.
• Experience managing RFIs, design changes, technical queries and consultant deliverables.
• Understanding of DBP compliance and design obligations within NSW.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance design, programme, cost, quality and construction outcomes.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an integrated developer-builder environment.
