A Major Project Delivery Partner construction group with a strong forward pipeline is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its Commercial Team across multiple residential developments throughout Brisbane. This is a newly created role driven by continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, providing the opportunity to influence projects from early design development through to construction delivery. This is a pivotal role sitting across pre-construction and delivery, helping drive project success from concept through to completion

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, and working closely with clients, consultants, development stakeholders and project delivery teams, the Design Manager will be responsible to:

• Lead the design management process from concept through to construction completion across multiple projects.
• Coordinate architects, consultants, authorities and specialist design disciplines.
• Act as the key interface between clients, consultants, commercial and project delivery teams.
• Drive design programmes to support procurement, construction and project milestones.
• Review design documentation for buildability, programme efficiency and commercial alignment.
• Identify and manage design risks, changes and value engineering opportunities.
• Support procurement activities and ensure consultant deliverables meet project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with planning approvals, statutory requirements and project objectives.
• Provide regular reporting on design progress, risks and key project milestones.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified in Architecture, Construction Management, Design Management, Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum 8+ years' experience within Design Management, Design Coordination, Project Delivery or related roles.
• Experience delivering residential, mixed-use, commercial or major building projects.
• Strong understanding of design development, construction methodologies and buildability principles.
• Demonstrated experience managing consultants and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Strong capability in reviewing design documentation with a focus on buildability, programme and commercial outcomes.
• Ability to identify and manage design-related risks before they impact procurement or construction.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align design intent with project objectives.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within a contractor, developer-builder or consultancy environment highly regarded.
• Experience across mid to high-rise residential projects will be highly regarded.
