Minor works/Service Alarms Technician

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Alarms Technician to join our team at ARA Fire Protection Services. This full-time, hybrid role will involve a mix of field work as an Alarms Technician across both Service and Minor works tenancy fitouts, allowing you to leverage your technical expertise while also contributing to the overall operations of the business. The position is based in Canberra, ACT .

What you'll be doing

• Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems to the highest industry standards

• Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire protection equipment to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines

• Respond to emergency callouts and troubleshoot issues with fire protection systems

• Maintain detailed records and documentation related to all servicing and repair activities

• Provide technical guidance and support to clients to help them understand the operation and maintenance of their fire protection systems

• Collaborate with the wider team to identify and implement process improvements

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience as a Alarms Technician who can Fire Panel Program, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information to clients in a clear and concise manner

• A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to client sites as required

• A commitment to workplace health and safety, with a demonstrated understanding of relevant regulations and standards

• Must have skillset to Program Fire Panels.
