University Paid Internship Program

The ATO is looking for talented students with good academic performance and a strong work ethic.

The University Paid Internship Program (UPIP) provides opportunities for motivated university students to do work they can’t do anywhere else – work that is meaningful, diverse and challenging – on a casual basis in their field of study.

To be eligible for this program you must:

• be an Australian citizen
• be studying a bachelor's degree or above
• have a GPA of a pass average or above
• be actively studying a part-time or full-time study load
• currently have 24 months or less to the completion of your studies

To be eligible for employment at the ATO, applicants should:

• hold Australian citizenship
• be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check

The register is open throughout the year and vacancies on the program occur at various times in various locations, according to our business needs. As vacancies arise, your application will be shared with the relevant business areas to consider whether your skills and experiences align with available positions. If suitable, the business area representative will contact you to discuss the potential opportunity further.
