About the role

Cheshire Machinery is seeking a Qualified Agricultural Technician to join our team in Bundaberg, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing, troubleshooting & repairing machinery faults and mechanical issues

• Performing routine maintenance and servicing on agricultural equipment

• Operating diagnostic tools and equipment to identify technical problems accurately

• Liaising with clients to understand their machinery requirements and provide technical advice

• Maintaining accurate records of all work completed, parts used and hours worked

• Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices in all technical work

• Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery where required

• Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying efficiency opportunities and technical enhancements

What we're looking for

• A qualified agricultural technician

• Proven experience working as a technician in agriculture

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical issues methodically

• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively

• Knowledge of machinery maintenance procedures, safety protocols and industry standards

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• A valid driver's licence to travel to client sites with supplied work vehicle

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate technical documentation

• Desirable experience with hydraulic systems, diesel engines or specific machinery brands relevant to our service offerings
