About You:

We are looking for a team player who is self-driven and possesses the following skills and experience:  

• Competent to advanced level knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for test methods
• Previous experience working in a material testing laboratory
• Experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering environment (desirable)
• Basic knowledge of quality controls for testing processes
• Experience working with a quality management system /structure
• Self-managed, energetic, and driven individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• A mechanical mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
• Flexibility to work overtime if required
• Unlimited working rights in Australia 

About the Role:

This role, reporting to the Quality Coordinator forms part of our high performing Manufacturing team. You will play a key role in the evaluation and testing of raw materials to be used in the manufacture of conveyor belts as well as examination & testing of belts to ensure the quality compliance, prior to release to the customer.
   
Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the conveyor belt testing laboratory, ensuring all tests are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.
• Physical testing of belt samples, fabrics and fibres - testing and comparison of results with standards to create belt certificates.
• Schedule and prioritize testing activities to meet client requirements as per the schedule provided by the planning team.
• Maintain laboratory procedures, test methods & quality control protocols defined as per the Australian and ISO standards.
• Manage all the measuring equipment calibration activities in the laboratory.
• Identify and troubleshooting issues related to testing procedures or equipment, implementing corrective actions as needed.
