Tinnitus Relief Australia
About the role
Tinnitus Relief Australia | New Hearing & Tinnitus Clinic | Mooloolaba
$33–$36 per hour + super, depending on experience
Join a growing specialist healthcare team and become the welcoming face of Tinnitus Relief Australia.
Tinnitus Relief Australia is looking for an experienced, warm and highly organised Medical Receptionist / Clinic Administrator to join our team at our new hearing and tinnitus clinic in Mooloolaba.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves working with people, takes pride in delivering exceptional service and enjoys being part of a professional, fast-growing healthcare environment.
Previous experience within an audiology, hearing, medical or allied health clinic is highly regarded, with Hearing Services Program (HSP) knowledge and experience considered a significant advantage.
Tinnitus Relief Australia is a specialist provider dedicated to supporting people living with tinnitus, hearing difficulties and related conditions.
We provide care to clients locally and across Australia through our national care service, combining in-clinic appointments with telehealth and coordinated care pathways to help people access specialist support regardless of where they live.
We are also proud to support Australian veterans, working closely with veterans, referrers and healthcare providers to help them access appropriate hearing and tinnitus care.
Our focus is on combining clinical excellence with an exceptional patient experience. As our services and clinic network continue to grow, we are looking for the right person to help us create a welcoming, professional and organised environment for every patient who contacts or visits our clinic.
As our Medical Receptionist / Clinic Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for many of our patients and an important part of their overall care journey.
You will work closely with our audiologists, health coordinators and administration team to ensure the clinic operates efficiently while providing a genuinely warm and supportive experience for our patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and managing the front reception area
Answering incoming telephone calls and patient enquiries
Managing appointment bookings, confirmations and schedule changes
Supporting patients accessing our national care service
Supporting audiologists with day-to-day clinic administration
Processing payments, invoices and patient documentation
Managing emails and general clinic correspondence
Maintaining accurate patient records and administrative systems
Assisting with hearing aid and device-related administration
Supporting Hearing Services Program (HSP) processes where required
Assisting with DVA and veteran-related administration
Liaising with patients, referrers, healthcare providers and other stakeholders
Helping ensure the clinic remains organised, professional and patient-focused
Providing general administrative support to the wider Tinnitus Relief Australia team
We are looking for someone who is naturally welcoming, organised and confident communicating with people from all walks of life.
You will ideally have:
Previous reception or administration experience
Experience within audiology, hearing healthcare, medical or allied health environments
Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills
Strong attention to detail and administrative accuracy
Confidence working with appointment and patient management systems
Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
Strong multitasking skills and the ability to stay organised when several things are happening at once
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinic environment
A dynamic and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond positively to change as the clinic and organisation continue to grow
Confidence working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
A professional, positive and team-focused approach
Genuine empathy and an interest in helping people receive the care they need
Experience in any of the following will be particularly valuable:
Hearing Services Program (HSP) knowledge and administration
Audiology or hearing clinic reception
Hearing aid administration and patient management
Medicare or healthcare billing
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) administration
Experience supporting veterans or veteran healthcare pathways
Allied health or specialist medical reception
This isn't just a front desk position. You will become an important part of a growing specialist healthcare organisation that is helping change the way tinnitus and hearing care is delivered across Australia.
We offer:
$33–$36 per hour + super, depending on experience
Candidates with strong audiology, hearing clinic, HSP or DVA experience may be considered towards the upper end of the salary range
The opportunity to join an exciting new specialist clinic
The opportunity to contribute to a national healthcare service
The chance to support Australian veterans and everyday Australians
A supportive and collaborative team environment
A patient-focused culture where service genuinely matters
Training and development within specialist tinnitus and hearing care
Exposure to innovative hearing and tinnitus treatment pathways
Clear career progression opportunities for the right person
Future opportunities to grow into broader administration, clinic operations, patient coordination or leadership responsibilities
The opportunity to grow your role as the organisation continues to expand nationally
A workplace that values initiative, professionalism, adaptability and great people
Our ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their role.
You notice when something needs doing and get it done. You remember patients' names. You communicate clearly. You keep things organised. You can juggle multiple priorities without losing attention to detail, and you are comfortable adapting as systems, processes and priorities evolve.
Most importantly, you understand that for someone contacting a healthcare clinic, the experience they receive from the very first phone call matters.
Many of the people we support have been living with hearing difficulties or tinnitus for a long time, so empathy, patience and clear communication are incredibly important.
If you have previous hearing clinic, HSP or DVA experience, we would particularly love to hear from you.
If you are looking for an opportunity to become part of a growing specialist healthcare organisation and believe you can help us deliver an outstanding experience for every patient, we would love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your reception or healthcare administration experience.
Applications from candidates with previous audiology, hearing clinic, HSP or DVA experience are strongly encouraged.
