Your Opportunity

As a Washbay Mechanic you will be responsible for working to tight timelines carrying out task for dismantling and reassembly of client equipment. This must be carried out to agreed service and quality standards, while actively collaborating with the broader operations team to continually improve the service delivery to our customers operating in a customs and quarantine-controlled environment.

What you will be doing

• Dismantle of machinery to allow for cleaning operations
• Reassembly of machinery after inspection for collection
• Taking the lead in arrival and departure of machinery supervision
• Support in machinery arrival condition reports
• When not performing mechanical tasks, washing and cleaning imported machinery and other items according to AQIS procedures.
• Using appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and equipment to achieve high-quality results.
• Maintaining and operating wash bay equipment properly and safely.
• Keeping work area clean and organised at all times.
• Adhering to environmental regulations regarding the disposal of cleaning agents and waste.
• Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
• Supporting site safety requirements .
• Actively leading and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Other washbay operations tasks as required.
• After reassembly of machine perform machinery condition report for departure

To become a Qube Logistics Washbay Operator you will need to have the following:

• Suitable trade qualifications  
• Previous experience on Quarantine Wash Bay is desirable 
• A valid forklift license is essential  
• Clear verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in tight and hard to reach spaces.
• Ability to work autonomously and work to strict deadlines.
• Positive work ethic.
• Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
• Commitment for continuous learning and development 
• Valid drivers Licence and reliable transport is required 

Additional information

• We will provide all relevant onsite training.
• Willingness to complete a Fitness to Work Medical, including Alcohol and Drug Screening.
