Legal Counsel - Banking & Finance - 3-5 PQE

We are partnering with a global investor and developer to recruit a Legal Counsel for its established Banking & Finance team in Sydney.
The successful candidate will join a high-calibre, fast-paced legal team and provide advice on a wide range of financing and capital markets transactions. You’ll gain broad and immediate exposure to complex, market-leading deals across.You will be supported by top-tier external counsel while developing your expertise across project finance, corporate debt, capital markets, and infrastructure funding.
What you’ll do:
Finance Transactions: Work closely with Senior Lawyers on a variety of debt transactions, including syndicated facilities, equipment loans/leasing, capital markets issuances, and associated securities filings.Contracts & Advisory: Take primary responsibility for general commercial work supporting the Capital and Finance teams, including confidentiality agreements, security documentation, engagement letters, master services agreements, statements of work, comfort letters, consents, waivers, notices, regulatory filings, and powers of attorney.Transaction Support: Manage due diligence and bring-down processes, document verification, approval and execution, conditions precedent, and closing checklists. Handle KYC, AML, and counterparty/lender/bank onboarding. Maintain transaction documents and support project management for the business teams.
This is a highly visible role for a hands-on lawyer who wants real commercial influence on billion-dollar projects.
About you:
3+ years’ PQE in banking & finance (top-tier firm experience highly regarded)Strong background in Capital Markets would be advantageousExcellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong commercial judgementPragmatic, confident, and comfortable advising senior stakeholders
